Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest range of gaming monitors, with a special highlight on the revolutionary Odyssey 3D, offering a glasses-free 3D viewing experience. This announcement was made at Gamescom 2024, the world’s largest gaming exhibition, held in Cologne, Germany, from August 21 to 25.

Gamescom 2024 is a prestigious event that attracts over 1,400 exhibitors from the gaming industry, including hardware manufacturers, software developers, and game content creators. The Odyssey 3D stands out due to its innovative light field display (LFD) technology, which creates lifelike 3D images from 2D content using a lenticular lens on the front panel. This technology, combined with Eye Tracking and View Mapping technology, ensures an optimal 3D experience without the need for special 3D glasses. Eye Tracking monitors the movement of both eyes using a built-in stereo camera, while View Mapping continuously adjusts the image to enhance depth perception.

The Odyssey 3D offers the flexibility to switch seamlessly between 2D and 3D modes based on user preference.
