Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub Units with EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet: Enhancing Home Heating with Outstanding Performance

Samsung Electronics has made a significant announcement that is bound to capture the attention of homeowners across North America. The company has unveiled its first-ever Air to Water Heat Pump lineup for North American households, set to be showcased at the CES 2025 event. This new product line, already available in Europe, marks Samsung’s strategic expansion into the North American market. With a sleek design, integration of AI Home technology, and reliable performance, these heat pumps are expected to become a staple in homes around the world.

"It is a great privilege to showcase our latest Air to Water Heat Pump lineup at CES 2025," expressed Hang Seok Choi, Vice President and Head of the Air Solution Business Team at Samsung Electronics. "As demand for this innovative heating system rises in the North American market, we are thrilled to leverage our extensive experience to introduce powerful and convenient solutions that meet these needs."

A New Consumer Experience

Samsung aims to revolutionize home heating with the introduction of two distinct indoor units: the ClimateHub Mono and the Hydro Unit Mono. The ClimateHub Mono features an integrated water tank, while the Hydro Unit Mono is a wall-mounted unit without a water tank. Complementing these indoor units is the EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet outdoor unit, known for its impressively low noise levels of just 35dB(A) and the use of R32 refrigerant. These products, particularly the ClimateHub Mono and the EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet, will be proudly displayed at CES 2025.

These products represent Samsung’s first venture into the North American market for household Air to Water Heat Pumps, and they stand out for their distinctive features and ease of use.

The Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub units come equipped with a 7-inch AI Home screen, which significantly enhances user convenience. This expansive screen allows homeowners to intuitively control temperature settings and monitor energy consumption. Additionally, users can track the status of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and manage other SmartThings-connected appliances, providing a comprehensive overview of home energy use.

One of the most appealing aspects of these units is their slim fit design, which allows for flexible installation in various locations around the house. Measuring 600mm and 350mm in depth respectively, the ClimateHub Mono and the Hydro Unit Mono are ideal for multi-unit dwellings and apartments. Despite their compact size, they include essential components such as magnetic filters, three-way valves, and an expansion vessel for space heating, ensuring a seamless installation process.

Technologies Designed for Efficient Heating Experiences

Both the indoor and outdoor units are engineered for optimal performance. The indoor unit focuses on reducing thermal loss during hot water supply operations. By incorporating a large heat transfer area in the ClimateHub’s tank coil and employing three layers of insulation, Samsung has successfully minimized heat loss from the tank.

The EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet outdoor unit has undergone meticulous design enhancements to ensure reliable performance even in extremely cold temperatures, as low as -30°C. This stability is achieved through the new Scroll Compressor, which compresses refrigerant at a much higher pressure, and Flash Injection Technology, which increases refrigerant flow. These advancements enable the unit to maintain 100% heating performance at temperatures as low as -25°C, consistently supplying hot water up to 70°C when the outdoor temperature is as low as -15°C.

Additionally, users can benefit from AI Energy Mode, which is supported by the Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub units when connected to SmartThings Energy. This mode allows homeowners to actively reduce energy consumption by up to 17%, making it a highly efficient choice for eco-conscious consumers.

Availability

Samsung’s EHS lineup first hit the market in 2009 and is currently available in over 40 European countries. The company’s plan to introduce the EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet and the new Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub units, equipped with AI Home, to the North American market next year is an exciting development for homeowners seeking efficient and innovative heating solutions.

Additional Information

  • AI Home: The product features a 7-inch LCD screen, which enhances user interaction. It’s important to note that not all services available on AI Home are AI-based. Certain functions do utilize AI algorithms that are periodically updated to improve accuracy.
  • Noise Level: The EHS HTLN outdoor units have been tested internally, with noise levels measured 3 meters away from the unit in an anechoic room at an outside temperature of 7°C. Actual results may vary based on environmental factors.
  • Refrigerant: The R32 refrigerant used in these units has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675, making it a more environmentally friendly option compared to older refrigerants.
  • Installation Requirements: A Wi-Fi connection and a Samsung account are necessary to access the AI Home features and connect appliances to the SmartThings App.

In summary, Samsung’s new Air to Water Heat Pump lineup is set to transform the way homeowners in North America experience home heating. With innovative technology, sleek design, and a focus on energy efficiency, these products promise to deliver superior performance and convenience. As Samsung continues to expand its presence in the North American market, consumers can look forward to more cutting-edge solutions that cater to their heating needs.
