Relive the magic of the original Gran Turismo, indulge in digital soundtracks from iconic PlayStation games, and create memorable moments with our new “Shapes of Play” collection. This month marks the beginning of our community celebration, and we are thrilled to have you join us.
For those eagerly awaiting the launch of Astro Bot, we are excited to give you a sneak peek at a special 30th-anniversary photo opportunity within the game’s central hub. Here, Bots you’ve saved throughout your adventures will gather, ready to dance along with your stylish moves.
An Early Look at What’s Ahead
My First GT
This holiday season, look forward to "My First GT," a free trial version of Gran Turismo 7 designed to attract players of all skill levels. This special release will feature some of the most beloved cars, tracks, and race events, evoking the nostalgia and excitement of the very first Gran Turismo experience. My First GT will be available to all PS5 and PS4 players, and more details will be revealed soon.
Digital Game Soundtracks
In collaboration with Sony Music, we will be releasing digital soundtracks from fan-favorite PlayStation franchises on Spotify each month from October through January. You’ll be able to stream these soundtracks on Spotify or purchase them on various digital music platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music, and other participating retailers. The soundtracks include:
- God of War
- God of War II
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- Twisted Metal
- Starhawk
- Unit 13
Additionally, you can enjoy our specially curated PlayStation 30th Anniversary playlist on Spotify, available to stream today. More digital soundtracks will be added to this playlist over time, so stay tuned for updates!
Shapes of Play Collection
We are excited to introduce the “Shapes of Play” collection, a new product line designed by the team behind the PlayStation consoles. This collection offers unique opportunities to create fun moments with our iconic PlayStation shapes:
- Shapes of Play: Battle – A board game where you challenge a friend to line up four different shapes of the same color on the board to win.
- Shapes of Play: Create – A set of magnetic blocks that you can position in any direction to create fun shapes.
- Shapes of Play: Recharge – A new way to recharge between games, especially after a tough boss battle.
The Shapes of Play collection will launch in December 2024, exclusively through direct.playstation.com in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Benelux. Preorders start later today, so don’t miss out!
Free Online Multiplayer Weekend and Esports Tournaments
To celebrate the fantastic online games and communities on PlayStation, we are hosting a free online multiplayer weekend on September 21 and 22. During these days, you can enjoy online multiplayer for games you own without needing a PlayStation Plus membership, available for both PS5 and PS4 consoles.
Concurrently, we will host a series of PS5 esports tournaments, featuring popular titles like NBA 2K24, NBA 2K25, Madden NFL 24, MLB The Show 24, EA UFC 5, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear Strive. If you own any of these games and qualify, you can compete on September 21 and 22 to win a special 30th-anniversary-themed avatar and other game-specific prizes. Players on PS5 can sign up via the Game Hub or the in-game PlayStation Tournaments button. Keep an eye on compete.playstation.com for all the upcoming tournament details.
