Madrid is also known for its plazas. I live near two fantastic ones: Plaza de Olavide in Chamberí and Plaza Dos de Mayo in Malasaña. Both plazas are lined with restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, making them perfect spots to enjoy a coffee or a Tinto de Verano in the sun.

First things first—buying sun cream was a priority.

Adjusting to life in Madrid has been a process, but we’ve managed well. One of the most intriguing aspects has been aligning our schedules with the Spanish way of life. The city comes alive in the evening, with restaurants and plazas bustling with people late into the night. This is quite different from San Francisco, where we used to live. My wife and I are making friends, and our dog has never been more popular. We often have to add 10-15 minutes to our walks because everyone wants to pet him!
