About Apple Card.
When you sign up for your digital Apple Card, you can obtain a physical titanium version that allows you to make contactless payments anywhere Mastercard is accepted, which is especially useful if your favorite store doesn’t yet support Apple Pay. As a reminder, every transaction made with the titanium Apple Card earns you 1% Daily Cash.
The physical titanium Apple Card has no numbers, CVV security code, expiration date, or signature printed to prevent fraud. The real Apple Card is more secure than other credit cards because of these and other features. Someone like a rogue cashier can simply write down and take your non-Apple credit or debit card number if it has one.
That doesn’t mean your titanium card doesn’t have a number assigned to it; in the Wallet app, you can see your Apple Card number and its expiration date, CVV security code, and other critical information. Apple scrambles the 16-digit number associated with your Apple Card into a code that only Apple and Goldman can understand, according to Craig Vosburg, Mastercard’s president of North American operations.
In other words, if your Apple Card number appears someplace else, Apple can quickly determine that it has been compromised and terminate it remotely. Best of all, if your titanium card is lost, damaged, or stolen, you can quickly request a replacement.
