TechHow ToHow To Download iOS 15.5 Developer Beta On iPhone

Apple has released iOS 15.5 beta with new features that require third-party developer input. The company is releasing developer betas so that software engineers can get a head start on making great software for you. While the beta contains new features, they also contain pre-release bugs that can prevent the normal use of your iOS devices, and are not intended for everyday use on a primary device. That’s why we strongly recommend staying away from developer previews unless you need them for software development, and using the public betas with caution. If you depend on your devices, wait for the final release. But if you really wanted to download iOS 15.5 developer beta on your iPhone, then this article is for you. We will be discussing iOS 15.5 developer beta.

 1. What is iOS  15.5?

It is a beta or a testing version of upcoming iOS versions. Apple has released the iOS 15.5 beta to developers. Those with registered developer accounts can download and install the beta right now via their Mac and should be able to install the beta profile and install it as an over-the-air update directly on an iPhone soon.

Points to be noted:

  • iOS 15.5 is supported on iPhone 6s and later.
  • Developer betas are incredibly buggy. Before proceeding, make sure you backup your iPhone to iCloud or computer. Alternatively, it would be best to install iOS 15.5 on a secondary device.
  • You must have an Apple developer account ($99/yearly) to download the iOS 15.5 developer beta.

2. Features of iOS 15.5

  • Apple Cash card Request and Send

In the Wallet app, there are large “Request” and “Send” buttons visible when you look at the Apple Cash card.

  • iTunes Pass = Apple Account balance

iTunes Pass, a years-old feature for storing and managing your iTunes credit in Wallet, is being rebranded as Apple Account. The card in Wallet will function the same as before, showing the unused balance on your Apple account. The name just better reflects that it can be used for App Store and in-app purchases, among other things. The name change is not yet present in the first beta release of iOS 15.5, though.

  • SportsKit and baseball

A new “SportsKit” framework has been in the works for some time, with references going all the way back to iOS 15.2. While the framework is not yet available to developers, it is being expanded upon in iOS 15.5 to better support things. Just in time for Friday Night Baseball!

  • Apple Classical

Apple acquired classical music service Primephonic back in August of 2021, and said, “In the coming months, Apple Music Classical fans will get a dedicated experience with the best features of Primephonic, including better browsing and search capabilities by composer and repertoire, detailed displays of classical music metadata, plus new features and benefits.”
