Garmin Coach Updates

Garmin Coach is expanding its offerings to cater to cyclists, making it easier for users to prepare for events, achieve personal milestones, or simply enhance their overall fitness. The process is straightforward: users can select their event date and desired distance in the Garmin Connect app to begin receiving daily personalized workouts. These workouts are tailored to help them reach their specific goals. The app also provides an overview of the training plan and a weekly workout schedule, ensuring users know what to expect and can plan accordingly. Furthermore, the new Garmin Run Coach and Garmin Cycling Coach plans will adapt daily based on performance, recovery, and health metrics.

For Runners

The Garmin Run Coach offers personalized workouts that adapt based on a runner’s performance, recovery, and health metrics. Whether a runner excels in a workout, postpones a run due to illness, or shortens a run because of extreme weather, the Garmin Run Coach plans will adjust accordingly. Users can still choose from the existing run coaches available in Garmin Coach today.

For Cyclists

The Garmin Cycling Coach helps cyclists by creating personalized plans that adjust according to their performance and recovery. These plans also allow cyclists to see how their current skills measure up against the demands of their upcoming courses, including elevation gain and distance requirements. Cyclists can also utilize prebuilt cycling plans that cater to all experience levels, making it easier for them to follow and achieve their goals.

New Features for Garmin Devices

  • Garmin Share: This feature allows users to quickly and easily share saved locations, courses, and workouts with other nearby, compatible Garmin smartwatches and Edge cycling computers.
  • Race Time Prediction Enhancements: Users can receive more accurate race time predictions based on their fitness level, training history, and recent run performances directly on their compatible smartwatch.

New Features for Edge Cycling Computers

  • Road Hazards: Cyclists can receive alerts for road hazards reported by other cyclists, such as potholes or fallen trees. They can also contribute information to help alert other riders.
  • GroupRide Enhancements: With a compatible Edge device, cyclists can stay connected during group rides with in-ride messaging, live locations, and incident detection alerts that notify and route fellow riders to someone in need of help. Cyclists can also engage in friendly competition with in-ride leaderboards for climbs and post-ride awards.
  • Road Surface Type: Cyclists can see whether roads are paved or unpaved on their compatible Edge device and receive alerts for upcoming unpaved sections.
  • Map Manager with Wi-Fi Connectivity: Users can add, swap, or update maps directly on their device via Wi-Fi.

The software updates have begun rolling out to compatible devices. Customers can update their smartwatch or cycling computer by enabling automatic updates from their device, syncing with Garmin Connect, or using Garmin Express.
