The Winners

Expert’s Choice Winner: VigiLife, Inc.

VigiLife’s SafeGuard® platform is designed to help enterprises maintain efficiency, demonstrate labor sustainability commitments, and ensure stable labor operations. This intelligent guardian platform uses environmental sensors to detect noise, radiation, certain chemicals, and particulates. When combined with Garmin smartwatches and fitness trackers, SafeGuard has successfully protected workers from heat stress, ensuring their safety and well-being.

People’s Choice Winner: Metluma

Metluma’s innovative care model merges technology with compassionate healthcare. Targeting women over 40, Metluma supports those navigating perimenopause and menopause, as well as conditions like ADHD, mental health issues, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes. Utilizing wearable technology data, behavioral science, and remote monitoring, Metluma connects patients with trained medical practitioners, ensuring timely and personalized care.

Selection Criteria

Finalists presented their solutions to two panels of judges: industry experts and Summit attendees. Each submission was evaluated based on customer benefits, scalability, uniqueness, innovation, performance, and alignment with Garmin Health’s key focus areas: healthcare and research, insurance and employee well-being, and fitness and wellness.

Celebrating a Decade of Garmin Health

The Summit also marked Garmin Health’s 10th anniversary. Reflecting on its evolution, Garmin Health highlighted its journey from corporate wellness to supplying high-quality sensor data for healthcare, patient monitoring, population wellness, and insurance markets globally.

Reaching a Research Milestone

During the Summit, Garmin Health celebrated supporting over 1,000 research studies worldwide. These studies span areas such as sleep, well-being, rehabilitation, physical activity, and disease management, showcasing Garmin’s commitment to advancing health sciences.

Keynote on the Future of Wearables in Health

Professor Josip Car, Head of King’s College School of Life Course and Population Sciences, delivered the keynote address titled “Exploring the Future Potential of Wearables as Sensor Platforms for Digital Health and Research.” Car discussed transforming smartwatches into robust medical tools that can revolutionize health monitoring and provide medical-grade insights to a broader population. His presentation covered regulatory approvals, technological advancements, clinical validations, sensor integration, data accuracy, secure data management, and the required collaborations between tech companies, healthcare providers, and policymakers.

Expanding Innovation in India

A significant agreement was signed between Garmin and Apollo Health Axis, a subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals, during the Summit. This collaboration allows Apollo to offer Garmin fitness trackers as part of select Apollo Health Plans. Customers who purchase select Garmin fitness trackers gain access to Apollo ProHealth, a personalized program designed by doctors and AI to capture patient data, predict disease risks, and guide them on a wellness path. Additionally, a social responsibility program will enable both companies to bring innovative health services to rural communities in India.
