    Achievements in Telecommunications and Standardization of 5G Mobile Communication

    Among the honorees, Paul Kyungwhoon Cheun was recognized for his leadership in developing 5G and virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN) technologies. Having been with Samsung Electronics since 2012 and leading the Network Business Division, Cheun is a telecommunications technology expert who played a pivotal role in developing core technologies for 5G.     Newly Elevated Fellows in Machine Learning, Cameras, and Foundry

    Timothy Hospedales was honored as a Fellow for his work in data-efficient machine learning and meta-learning. Joining Samsung Electronics in 2019, Hospedales is an expert in machine learning and data intelligence, currently leading Samsung Research’s AI initiatives across Europe at the AI Center in Cambridge, U.K.

    Michael Scott Brown earned the Fellowship for his contributions to in-camera color image processing. An expert in computer vision, Brown joined Samsung Electronics in 2019 and currently oversees research and development at the AI Center in Toronto.

    Yuri Masuoka was recognized as an IEEE Fellow for her pioneering work in advanced foundry transistor development.
