Apple announced earlier that the company will release the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini sometime in September 2021. News of their features are floating on social media, and it’s hard to know the truth. On July 12th, 9To5 Mac, noticed something that the blog says, might come true.
iPhone 13 And iPhone 13 Mini Will Not Have The LiDAR Scanner
DylanDKT, a less trustworthy developer and leaker of Tech upgrades, posted about the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini on his Twitter handle. He believes that Apple will exclude the 13 generations of iPhone models from the LiDAR feature. The company initially planned to include this unique feature in all of its models, but it looks like it changed its mind. As per Dylan, now only iPhone Pro models will have the LiDAR feature this year.
LiDAR is a time-of-flight technology that measures the distance between the source and the objects while using the camera. This helps to get accurate information about the depth of the image and gives you a real-life impression.
Dylan is not a renowned leaker, but according to 9To5 Mac, all his past predictions and leaks about Apple products have come true.

Why Is Apple Releasing iPhone 13 Mini?
Last year Apple released the iPhone 12 mini for people who have been pleading with the company to made smaller iPhones. However, when Apple did launch them, the crowd disappeared. As marketing experts in Apple believe that Apple 12 Mini lost to Apple’s SE model that was also released around the same time. And somehow, the customers of Apple 12 mini flocked to the SE model.

Furthermore, they also believe that even though the mini model could not become as successful in the market, they must give it a second chance, so Apple manufactured a successor: the iPhone 13 mini.
Conclusion
However, despite the sudden uproar about the iPhone 13 mini, rumors say it might be the last mini version by Apple. Low sales and success among the loyal customers might be why Apple goes back to its former models. The 5.4 inches screen does not cut through the bar of low price that people were expecting. So, it is only wise that Apple sticks to its Pro and regular models.
