NewsCES 2025: Three Startups Challenging Global Markets with Samsung C-Lab

As the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 takes center stage in Las Vegas, Samsung’s C-Lab exhibition is drawing significant global attention. This event highlights Samsung’s commitment to boosting the startup ecosystem in Korea and supporting the international expansion of innovative startups through its C-Lab program. By participating in major events like CES, C-Lab provides a platform for startups to showcase their groundbreaking innovations.

The CES 2025 C-Lab exhibition features a diverse array of 15 startups and projects. This includes 12 startups from C-Lab Outside, which is Samsung’s initiative for external startups, two projects from C-Lab Inside, an internal incubation program for Samsung employees, and one C-Lab Spin-Off startup that emerged from C-Lab Inside.

Several of these startups have been singled out for their technological creativity by receiving CES Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). During the event, Samsung Newsroom interacted with three award-winning startups: Pinpoint, focusing on smart city technology; Quester, specializing in extended reality (XR) technology; and GhostPass, a pioneer in security and financial technology (fintech). These conversations revealed the innovative strides being made by these startups.

### Pinpoint: Gaining Global Recognition through C-Lab

Pinpoint, a participant in the C-Lab Outside program in 2024, made its international debut at the CES 2025 C-Lab exhibition. The startup was honored with an Innovation Award in the Smart Cities category for its Internet of Things (IoT)-integrated management solution aimed at improving building operations. This solution is designed to optimize building management by providing operators with integrated control over all resources, offering a seamless user experience through a mobile app that facilitates services such as reservations, parking, and robot delivery.

At CES, Pinpoint demonstrated the capabilities of its cloud-based building management solutions. Jin Hyuk Ahn, CEO of Pinpoint, expressed excitement about the opportunity to present their solutions on a global platform. The company’s participation in CES, supported by the structured guidance from C-Lab, has allowed them to assess global market reactions and explore potential collaborations.

Pinpoint is further enhancing its technology by collaborating with Samsung’s advanced enterprise version of the SmartThings platform, SmartThings Pro, and b.IoT, Samsung’s integrated building management solution. Their aim is to set a new standard in user experience-driven space planning and design.

### Quester: From Local Discovery to Global Recognition

Quester is another success story from C-Lab, having grown through the C-Lab Outside Daegu program in 2024. At CES 2025, Quester showcased its innovative hand-tracking glove technology, earning an Innovation Award in the XR Technologies & Accessories category. Quester’s technology employs a method known as sensor fusion to accurately track hand movements, overcoming limitations of existing technologies that are often sensitive to external factors. This approach allows for stable performance across various applications, including immersive content, robotics, and motion capture.

Quester’s presence at CES not only demonstrated their technological prowess but also garnered valuable feedback from potential clients. This input will inform their future development efforts as they aim to enhance their products and expand their market reach.

Quester’s CEO, Jeongwu Lee, highlighted the importance of C-Lab Outside Daegu’s infrastructure and consulting support in their growth journey. The startup plans to leverage insights gained at CES to foster industry collaborations and further refine its offerings.

### GhostPass: Expanding Beyond Korea with C-Lab’s Support

GhostPass, another C-Lab success story, has been making waves with its biometric authentication technology. A participant of C-Lab Outside in 2023, GhostPass received the Best of Innovation Award in the FinTech category at CES 2025. This accolade follows their previous win in the Smart Cities category, underscoring their technological excellence.

GhostPass’s solution is distinguished by its two-factor authentication system, which stores biometric data such as facial and iris information directly on the user’s smartphone rather than on external servers. This enhances security and allows users to manage their biometric data independently, reducing operational costs for businesses by eliminating the need for server-based storage.

At CES 2025, GhostPass showcased an unmanned store concept where visitors experienced end-to-end biometric authentication for entry and payments. This demonstration highlighted the practical applications of their technology in the fintech sector. Huseyin Ada, a visitor from Türkiye, was particularly impressed by the innovation’s data privacy features, noting its potential for widespread application.

Seongwan Lee, CEO of GhostPass, emphasized the value of C-Lab’s support in providing global exhibition opportunities and receiving industry feedback. With the positive reception at CES, GhostPass plans to pursue global partnerships and expand its reach in areas such as identity verification, access security, and payment solutions.

### Conclusion: C-Lab’s Impact on the Global Stage

The C-Lab exhibition at CES 2025 has been instrumental in showcasing the potential of Samsung C-Lab startups on the world stage. This exposure not only boosts the profiles of these startups but also contributes to the growth of Korea’s startup ecosystem. Samsung Electronics and the C-Lab Family remain dedicated to nurturing this ecosystem, from discovering promising startups to supporting their journey to becoming global players.

For those interested in the latest technological innovations and the impact of startup ecosystems on global markets, the C-Lab exhibition at CES 2025 offers valuable insights. As these startups continue to evolve and expand, they pave the way for future technological advancements and collaborations, shaping the next generation of tech solutions.
